TEACHER - SPED
My name is Ada Macatulad, and I was born in Manila, Philippines. I am currently taking my Master of Arts degree specializing in Special Education and Inclusive Education. I graduated from New Era University with a Bachelor of Elementary Education Major in Sped. At the same time, I am also taking RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) course here in the US. Being 16 years in my profession, I have experience teaching preschool, elementary, ALS(Alternative Learning System), and SPED. However, the most year that I spent in my career position was being a SPED teacher, where I handled severe/mild/moderate different kinds of disabilities. Before I started in the public school, I tried to teach in the private school. After getting my license as a teacher, I applied to the Public school and was immediately hired. I became SPED Chairperson in Commonwealth Elementary School for two years, where I used this opportunity to develop my leadership and management. We had many SPED projects, such as manipulating our students' materials and looking for stakeholders to sponsor our program and activities. I also became a coach/ trainer in SPED Olympics and Academic Contest, where my students compete at the regional and national levels. Giving full commitment and dedication to practice or training is a great advantage to bagging the Gold medals. In addition, attending the seminars, workshops, and conferences helped me improve my teaching and impart what I've learned to my colleagues and even my students' parents.
