Our AASA Highly Proficient Students!
CONGRATULATIONS! Pictured are the 4th and 5th grade students from Rice Intermediate who scored HIGHLY PROFICIENT on their Math and Reading Arizona's Academic Standards Assessment (AASA). The AASA is a statewide achievement test for all students grades 3-8. Each student received a certificate and gift card to Pizza Hut!

Arizona Science and Engineering Fair
Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AZSEF) 2024 Congratulations to all the incredible Rice Intermediate students who presented and competed in the Elementary Division at the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair on April 4, 2024! With 238 projects, approximately 93 judges were needed to review student projects and confer with teams for project award decisions. Your dedication to innovation is truly commendable. Keep pushing the boundaries of science and never stop exploring!

Great Job to our Spelling Bee Champions that participated at the Gila County Spelling Bee in Payson, AZ!
2nd Quarter Awards!

AZ529 Essay Winner!
Jonalynn A. was ONE OF 20 WINNERS STATEWIDE to win the AZ529 Arizona's Education Savings Plan essay contest! She wrote an essay based on the question "What is your dream job and how do you plan on achieving it in the future?" Jonalynn wants to become a lawyer! Jonalynn was awarded this certificate by Treasurer Yee at the State Capitol. Congratulations!
Student Council
Congratulations to our newly elected Student Councils members for the SY 2023-2024! We're proud of our future leaders!
Perfect Attendance Pizza Party!
Ms. Soguelon's 3rd gr. class received a pizza party as well for having 7 days of Perfect Attendance! For each day that they received perfect attendance, the class earned a letter to spell out P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Great job!
Gift Card Incentive
Our students receive gift cards to Walmart and Pizza Hut when they complete their objectives in intervention! It pays to put in the hard work!
Calming Room
To help alleviate stress, anxiety and historical trauma, RIS has created a calming room for our students. The calming room was designed to regulate our students' emotions and to reduce negative thoughts that have affected their academic performance and social skills.
