Dear SCUSD Families and Community,
 

This is to inform you that San Carlos Unified School District will be closed today, August 22, due to a power outage in the T-Cup area caused by a downed power line.

At this time, there will be no school and no work expectations for staff. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

We've been notified that SCIP crews began working early this morning to restore power, but due to weather and safety concerns, the repair could not be completed overnight. There is currently no estimated time for restoration.

In the meantime, TERC has been informed and will begin distributing water bottles and setting up porta johns in affected areas.

We are also in communication with our transportation department and school administration to determine if travel for tonight's away football game will still be possible. We will provide update on that later today.
