ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL

Dr. Madrid has been teaching Physics for 21 years and in the past has worked as a School Improvement Specialist, Science Coordinator, Physics Teacher, CTE Bioscience teacher, Science and Engineering Advisor, CTE Robotics Coach, Mentor/Instructional coach, National Honor Society Advisor, and Project Lead the Way Biomedical Science teacher. Dr. Madrid received her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a major in Physics in 2002 from the Philippine Normal University, Master’s Degree in Education Management in 2008, Master’s Degree in Special Education in 2019, and graduated her Doctoral Degree in Developmental Administration from the Philippine Christian University in 2019. She completed her Educational Leadership Internship units and School Laws and Policy from the American College of Education (ACE) in 2022. Aside from being the Rice Intermediate Associate Principal, Dr. Madrid is also one of the San Carlos 4-H Science Club leaders.

For the past six years, Dr. Madrid has guided students in completing their science and engineering projects and is proud to be one of the Science advisors of young scientists of Rice Intermediate School. Some of the science projects she guided and won first place at the Gila County Science Fair and Arizona Science and Engineering Fair were: Utilization of Coleus (Plectranthus Scutellarioides) Anthocyanin Extract as pH Indicator, Thermal (Linear Expansion) Chemical (Stability) and Mechanical (Comprehensive Strength) Properties, Neuropsychological Correlation of Psychosomatic Trauma Resulting from Child Maltreatment; Factors that adversely affect mental health & academic performance in Native Indian communities, Ch’ildilghali (Mahonia-crying out) crude extract: as microbiological stain.

Dr.Madrid also served as one of the Judges in the International Science Fair and Engineering Fair for the Physical Science (Physics) Category in 2018. 

Dr. Madrid has a passion for teaching Science, loves challenging students in both science and engineering process skills, and cares about students’ growth and learning.  She was awarded the San Carlos High School Teacher of the Year in 2018 and 2023 and Gila County Teacher of the Year Runner up in 2023.
